Location Details

The XTO Owl project is in Coyanosa, Texas, which has a population of less than 200 residents. There were many logistical challenges that made the project different and special. Prior to site mobilization, there was no electricity or water so major support services had to be established. A frac pond had to be placed in order to truck in all the water for site usage. During construction, sourcing materials would take an average of two weeks.

Personnel Coordination

Tellepsen set up a local hiring office and worked with the Texas Workforce Commission to get as many employees to west Texas as possible. As there are hundreds of projects within a hundred miles of each other, the Permian Basin is a saturated market area in terms of employment; many contractors would have to compete to acquire and retain employees. As a result of our reputation for running a safe job with clean facilities and fair wages, we had an overall turnover rate of less than 5%.

Technology Fact

Tellepsen utilizes BIM Modeling and MEPF Coordination on nearly every project to ensure these critical systems are properly designed, fabricated, and installed. This is one more way that we strive to “do it right the first time” and avoid mistakes that can be costly and time-consuming for the project.
