About the Project

Rice University continues to be on the cutting-edge of excellence in education. This has led to continued growth and expansion for the university. Tellepsen had the privilege to partner with Rice on the South College Housing Expansion and East Servery. Constructed in the mid-fifties, Baker College and Will Rice College at Rice University were renovated to meet the growing demand for student housing. The circa 1955 wings of Will Rice College and Baker College were demolished. In addition to adding 82 new beds to the South Colleges, the Kitchen/Servery in Baker College was completely renovated and a new Kitchen/Servery was constructed for Will Rice College. The quadrangles adjacent to Baker, Lovett, and Will Rice Colleges were also improved to comply with the university’s Master Plan. These projects allow Rice to continue to meet the needs of their growing population.
