About the Project
The Boy Scouts of America provides youth from 6 to 18 opportunities to develop the life skills that foster strong and healthy futures. The Sam Houston Area Council is the largest in the world, and the 56,000-square-foot headquarters provides the facilities to train and deploy more than 11,000 adult leaders each year. The building has a beautiful stone and plaster exterior with a metal roof that resembles a “rustic lodge”. An icon on Houston’s perimeter freeway system, the Cockrell Center provides a strong base for the Boy Scouts of America as they continue to serve the Southeast Texas communities.
