About the Project

Tellepsen partnered with Lakewood Church to transform the former multi-purpose Compaq Center area into a one-of-a-kind worship facility. The renovation and new construction include a 16,000-seat sanctuary and classrooms for this internationally prominent church. A new 200,000-square-foot building was constructed adjacent to the sanctuary to provide classrooms, assembly rooms, broadcast and office space. The sanctuary includes all of the technology for a functional broadcast facility with integrated audio/visual and production support systems. The project was constructed on a highly congested urban site with the need for meticulous planning and coordination of all on-site activities.
