About the Project

In 1965, a group of over 55 Catholic families and households from Friendswood made a commitment to establish the beginnings of a Catholic church in their growing community. In 1969 they officially became a parish and have been meeting the needs of families in the Friendswood community ever since. Tellepsen was honored to partner with Mary Queen on its latest campus expansion project that included a 37,650-square-foot sanctuary and chapel. The innovative structure includes structural steel and glue-laminated frame, standing seam metal roof, intricate brick/case stone exterior, two bell towers, stained glass windows, exposed wood deck ceilings, custom marble flooring and high finish millwork interior. This “one-of-a-kind” sanctuary and chapel will provide for the continued growth of Mary Queen Catholic Church for years to come.
